Bill Rauhauser, the famous Detroit street photographer, once said that he had always been fascinated by the interactions of everyday life. I am as well. That’s why I take photos in the street. I only started this blog in February 2012, although I had had this project in mind for years. Actually it was my son, Francesco, who encouraged me (without knowing it). When he started to study comunication design and photography my “old love” for the subject arose again. Meanwhile I have become addicted to go out and shoot photos almost daily. Fortunately, it is easy to combine with my work as a journalist.

My gear: Nikon D600 with AF-S Nikkor 24-85 mm lens.

Languages: German, English, Italian, French

  1. Nice work! I think you have great images here in your blog. Black & white street photography is just so – colorful! Keep shooting! And thanks for looking at my blog (even if it was a reblogged post) 🙂

  2. Cornelia ha sido un placer que pasase por mi blog y a la vez me permitiese conocer su trabajo, lo que estoy viendo me encanta, también me gusta mucho la fotografía en blanco y negro, por lo que seguiré visitándola, un abrazo

  3. Thanks for following my blog, I’m intrigued … black and white, and street photography in one place. These are two things I’ve never quite managed to get to grips with. Thanks very much for sharing. 🙂

  4. I am have started in street photography very recently. Have a Leica M7. Still lots to learn. Out of the many a few has come out to my satisfaction. Have started to follow your blog.

  6. Hallo Cornelia.
Ganz tolle Fotos, die Du hier zeigst!

You’re addicted to the street – as me 🙂

  7. Very nice work! Love your photographs and will folow your blog in the future… my English is not good enough for blogging, but photographs don’t need to many words… greetings from Belgium.

  8. You have a true gift. Haven’t explored your whole blog yet but the street photography is incredible. Yes – tells entire stories without words. Thank you for sharing your work!

  9. I finally got back to look at the photos that I’ve missed. They are all, and I mean all, wonderful. I cannot imagine how you do it. The characters you find in the streets are the most interesting subjects I have ever seen in street photography. I enjoy them so very much, Cornelia! Thank you for your continued encouragement on my blog. George

  10. Thank you so much! How I do it? I just keep my eyes open and the camera ready to click (I love to watch people!!). But, as I mentioned before, 90% of my photos go directly into the trash can after downloading. What you see here is the 10% good ones.

      • My camera is mentioned above, below my “About” text. But, here again: Nikon D3100 with Nikkor zoom lenses 28-55 mm and 55-200 mm. I shoot 80% of my photos at 100-200 mm.

      • Oh nice. I plan on purchasing either the Nikon 5100 or the Canon Rebel T3i. What do you like most about Nikon? Have you ever used a Canon camera?

      • I can’t tell you what I like about Nikon, I just like the camera. My son, who studies photography, uses a
Canon EOS 5D and he just loves it.

  11. Oh, Dear Cornelia, how could I have missed your beautiful blog! Please forgive me. I knew I forgot somebody! I am old and forgetful, you know. I so love your photography. I never saw one bad photo on your blog. And I wanted to introduce you to my few followers who don’t know you. Please pick up your award at my blog where you just came and went without seeing your name! I love your new Gravatar, by the way. It’s just too cute. 🙂

  12. Hello Cornelia,

#PS: I have my heart pounding for what is going to be a revenge for the World Cup 2006 Semifinal in two days. I haven’t visited the country-I will- but I have always been a loyal Germany National team since the era of Juergen Klinsmann. So nice to see a German Blogger! 🙂

    • Thank you for following my blog. I am happy to hear you like my photos. I like your blog as well – it is very inspiring!! As for soccer … I am not a soccer fan and I actually don’t follow the games … to tell you the truth, I don’t care who gets the title. I am very “ungerman” when it comes to soccer, I guess. May the best team win, no matter if Italian, Portuguese or Spanish.

  20. Hi Cornelia! I don’t know if you have seen it but I come out with a digital magazine version of my blog Junsjazz Images & Inspiration of which two issues are already online. Its not a commercial magazine, just another online project of mine. I plan to release the third issue by yearend and I’d like to devote a page for a guest photographer to showcase his/her works (probably 5 to 6 images). I would be honored to have your works featured in Issue #3, if it is alright with you. Of course there will be backlinks to your blog and full credit to you for all your works that may appear in the magazine. I await your reply. Thanks

  22. Hi Cornelia, your street photography is amazing! It is something I have never really tried and I plan to get into it. I will check out your portfolio for inspiration! Great work!

      • Not so much hard work, actually. In Germany we start learning English in 5th grade and French (Italian or Spanish) in 7th grade. It’s mandatory. So when we get our secondary school degree after the 13th grade we are fluent in two foreign languages. I then studied English Language and Literature at university. My French is not so fluent anymore, but enough to get along.

  24. Cornelia, I have admired your work for some time now. I think your street photography is exceptional! You capture ordinary things and really bring them to life in such a sophisticated way. Thank you for sharing your works of art!! You inspire me!

  25. Good to stumble upon your blog, like the pictures of ordinary people during their ordinary time in the street, like the coffee picture the black and white I always have found it much more interesting than the colourful ones.

  26. I love your blogs, your photos are very beautiful. I’ll be back… I also have a second blog on old pictures.

  27. Hi Cornelia,
I very much like your style; it is very consistent. I have a question about it though… It almost looks like infrared, if not. Are you using a red filter or a certain camera setting when you take the photos? It has a unique feel to the black and white and I just can’t put my finger on it. Just curious.

  28. Hello Cornelia, I absolutely love your blog and photos and have nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award. If you are interested, visit my blog to see the process. (It’s one of those “acknowledge and pass it on” awards. It’s meant more for new comers than for blogs like yours with a following–but I wanted to give your blog a shout out because your photos really are inspiring, and get to the heart of what a good travel blog is all about . . .in a visual way.)
Thanks for always posting great material!
